Trioctyl Trimellitate (TOTM), a transparent oil liquid with mild odor, is a heat- resistant and durable plasticizer and it is suitable to be used in various plastic materials such as polyvinyl chloride, chloroethlene copolymer, nitrocellulose, ethyl butynate cellulose, polymethyl methacylate and so on. The plasticizing rate and processing property of this product are similar to phthalate plasticizer and the durability if it can be as good as polymeric plastifiers. Many properties such as low volatility, excellent extractability-proof, best resistance to mobility as well as best resistance to cold and electrical property belong to this product which is suitable to be made into such products required high heat-resistance and good durability such as cable materials, sheet materials, sealing washers etc. But the resistivity against oil of this product is inferior to polyester plasticizer and its kneading property is not as good as dioctyl phthalate.
